How it works

QR (Quick Response) codes use a matrix of dark and light modules arranged in a square grid. The tool encodes your input data using the Reed-Solomon error correction algorithm, then generates the module pattern. Each character of your input is converted to binary data, divided into blocks, and encoded with redundancy data for error correction. The QR specification defines finder patterns (the three large squares in corners), alignment patterns, timing patterns, and the data/error correction modules.
